Donal Hill

Donal Hill is a good ol’ country boy, born in Anson, Texas, on the 23rd day of June 1935, to the proud parents of Frank and Annie Hill. Donal had eight other brothers and sisters. Unfortunately, one passed away a few months after birth.

Donal’s mother passed away when he was only two years old. His grandparents raised him after, along with his father. Donal does not remember much about his mother, but he remembers being outdoors, hunting and fishing.

When Donal bought his first bike, it had a light and a horn. Preacher Scott W. Hickey invited Donal and his friend to his church, Revival, that very night. That night, he turned his bike light on and rode for 3 miles with his friend. Donal’s light shone on Jesus that night. That was just the beginning.

Donal graduated from Hawley High School. He later had four handsome sons. Three of them passed away with cancer; one son died in a car accident. He has a beautiful, intelligent daughter, who gave him two granddaughters, and he also has two grandsons.

Thirty years ago, Donal was blessed to own and operate HillCo Drywall in Buda, Texas. His daughter has been running the office for about a year now.

Donal has experienced life to its fullest, or so he thought, with money, philandering and gambling. In April 2022, at the age of 86, the Lord spoke to Donal about creating these easy-to-read Gospel Poems, inspired by the Bible. “Simple, yet not changing any of it”, Donal stated. “Put Jesus in between you and the devil. Open your heart and let the Lord in!”
